How hard is it to reset your metabolism? That’s what most people ask, including me. It’s of high interest especially for me as I have hypothyroidism, so my weight is all over the place.  The easier a way to restart my metabolism, the better.

I used to have a six-pack and everything, weighing in at 160 lbs at 5’9″. Now I’m coming back from a horrible year last year; mom was sick for over a year and died 17 December 2017. I lost all care of how I looked or felt and ended up at 232 lbs. I have my motivation back now, am eating better and exercising instead of sleeping when I get depressed. I weighed myself this morning and am 219.5 lbs, starting the lifestyle change this past May.  I’m so happy that my metabolism is starting back up again!

I’ve followed some of this nutritionists advice which is helping. I use turmeric, garlic, and black pepper when I didn’t use to. I drink tea again, both green and oolong along with other types. I love tea but last year I barely drank any. Lots of processed foods, hence the weight gain. Along with no working out.  I definitely learned this past year that metabolism isn’t just about exercising, it’s about food.  On top of that, it’s about eating food that’s good for you that boosts your metabolism.  That is a lesson I won’t soon forget.

Changing any habit, no matter how small, is surprisingly difficult. You don’t realize how set in your ways you are until you try to switch them up. That’s always our experience when we endeavor to take on a new diet, fitness, or wellness routine. (That’s why it’s so tortuous to workout in the pre-dawn hours if you’re a self-confessed night owl.)
